Willmore Youth Foundation is an organisation formulated for the purpose of elevating and serving in order to promote independence, reliability, skills development in scholars. The organisation aims to develop primary and secondary learners to prepare them for life post matric level. To successfully empower these scholars, we have several programmes and events aimed at skills development and mental health awareness. These involve, but are not limited to, career expo, career day, job shadowing and entrepreneurship days. The career expo encompasses presentations from several career experts to guide matric learners on selecting the best career choice. This event has been coupled with a professional psychometrist who provides guidance in decision making in terms of career selection best suited for each learner.

With the realisation that not all learners have the skills set to be accepted in varsity, we have considered the incorporation of other skills that explore the learners capability such as artistic skills, where we recommend a college or institution that will cater for them. The career day serves as a platform to motivate learners, which will lead to better career choice selection and awards the learners an opportunity to learn from the motivational and educational talks, and to prepare them mentally. During the career day, we also provide learners with assistance in applying to tertiary institutions. Most of the youth of today decide on career choices based on money or their academic excellence. In order to encourage the learners to select careers based on their personality traits and passion, we further provide the learners with a real life experience of their proposed career choice along with a job shadowing programme. This programme allows the learners to get a practical idea of the particular job/career they have chosen and guide them in deciding if it is the career path they would like to pursue.

Not only does our organisation focus on skills development in preparation for tertiary level, it also introduces learners to entrepreneurship. The youth is encouraged to embark on generating a business using the skills and qualifications acquired at tertiary level for job development in the future. Our organisation therefore aims at building future leaders and entrepreneurs as well as shaping the youth of today to be innovators and to contribute greatly to the economic climate of the country and subsequently, the world.
