Have you considered meditating?
With all the stress and anxiety we have to endure on a daily basis and a possible third wave on the horizon, meditation is a great way to break away from things that keep you in a dark space. Meditation is a great way to boost your health, change your mood and feel more connected to life around you. But it can be a bit difficult to get started.
We would like to let you know that meditation can be done by anyone if you take these points into consideration…
- No expectations
It’s important to note that meditation is not some witchcraft and wizardry that will fix everything in your life. Just like any form of exercise, it takes effort and it takes time to notice the benefits. Try not to meditate with the expectation of wanting to feel better afterwards.
- Create a routine
Create a routine by consistently sticking to it and making a habit out of it. This will allow your body to fall into a pattern each day.
- Find a space
Find a decluttered area in your home that you can use every day to meditate. This will allow your body and mind to become more comfortable, and the transition into meditation will become easier.
- Breathe a bit
After an intense workout or study session, it might be a bit difficult to jump straight into meditation. Take a breather and calm down before you try to meditate.
- Don’t fidget
It’s completely normal to want to change your position after a minute of sitting very still but try not to let your position become a hindrance to the meditation process. Find a position that your body is comfortable in before beginning.
- Be kind to yourself
The main point of meditation is about learning how to treat yourself with peace and kindness irrespective of what you may be experiencing at that moment.
We hope you give yourself some extra kindness every day and what better way than to meditate and enjoy your own company.
