First Year University Fellowship Programme open for applications

The aim of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship Programme is to help university students prepare for life as responsible, highly impactful entrepreneurs. The Fellowship Programme looks for young achievers transitioning into university – people who want to make a big impact – not just in their lives, but also in their community, city and country. The Fellowship recipients receive funding for university and access to support and development aimed at cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset and personal mastery.
Applicants need to be in Grade 12 or in their 1st year of university and have an overall 70% academic average. Once the applicants are successful, they will be onboarded as Candidate Allan Gray Fellows.
Fellowship Application Requirements and Process:
Grade 12 Requirements:
- Level 5 (Above 60%) in pure mathematics for final Grade 11 results
- Level 6 average (Above 70%) for final Grade 11 results (excluding Life Orientation)
- Completion of the National Benchmark test in 2020
- Applicants must be under the age of 21 in the year of their application
- South African citizenship
- Intention to study towards a Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, Humanities, Arts & Health Science (Excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry) degree at the UJ, WITS, UCT, NMU, RU, UWC, SU, UP, UFS and UKZN
First Year – Requirements:
- Due to COVID-19, academic results will be considered at a later stage in the selection process
- Applicants must be under the age of 22 in the year of their application
- South African citizenship
- Studying towards a Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, Humanities, Arts & Health Science (Excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry) degree at the UJ, WITS, UCT, NMU, RU, UWC, SU, UP, UFS and UKZN
